Reducing Food Waste While Supporting Nashville

Written by Jess Legge | Jul 12, 2016

Our clients love our communities as much as their own teams. We feel the same way.

With a new menu everyday, and people in and out of the office, leftovers happen. Really good leftovers happen.

Reducing food waste and finding ways to take care of our city is important to us.  We’ve spent the last several months researching and trying out different solutions, and we’re glad to say we’re partnering with Nashville Rescue Mission.

Through our partnership, we’ll be donating surplus raw ingredients and lunches.

Nashville Rescue Mission exists to spread a message of hope by collaborating with the community to connect individuals to the resources they need to “engage life with dignity, strength and health.” They’re centrally located in downtown Nashville at 639 Lafayette St.

The Mission provides 2,000 meals a day to homeless people in our community. As a food business, that number is astounding, but their work doesn’t stop there. They also provide shelter, clothing, hot showers, counseling, education and training and much more.

Beyond emergency services, they oversee a life recovery program to help people build a strong foundation for life.

We’re excited to offer donation services for on-site clients. Upon request, your host will take food donations immediately after lunch service to Nashville Rescue Mission. For clients who have their food dropped off, we encourage you to make the short drive to the Mission to donate leftovers.

The donation center is open during regular business hours and their team will help you bring in any food donations.

Every meal counts, so let’s stand together in using our resources to feed + support Nashville. We hope you’ll join us in this and personally find ways to support organizations like Nashville Rescue Mission. Visit their website, here – where they announce their current, seasonal needs like cold water.
